Harry Harrison Headshot When a packaging challenge is brought to Harry Harrison, he succeeds in finding solutions. When he’s solving problems, he doesn’t let “can’t” enter his vocabulary.

As an Inside Sales Specialist with MJS Packaging since 2014, Harry has left it on the line to create the best solutions for his customers. He defines success as giving your best effort. You may not always get the results you want, but you cant ask for anything more than doing your best,” Harry said.

Harry graduated from Michigan State Universitys School of Packaging in 2011, where he became familiar with many materials used in the packaging industry. Hes well suited to help customers determine the right packaging material for the products or ingredients theyre working with.

Harrys work in the healthcare, food and beverage, and automotive industries have shown him firsthand the roadblocks these industries can face when met with challenging times, like the past 12-18 months of the COVID-19 pandemic. All three industries were impacted differently, which left Harry to help his customers out of one jam after another. Beyond making the customer happy, Harry loves a good challenge.

Harry Harrison Solves Pandemic-Related Packaging Problems

Longer lead times, price hikes, and labor shortages are just a few of the challenges Harry has helped his customers resolve so they can receive the right packaging components they need to make their products for consumers.

As the supply chain tries to catch up with the demand for some products, order delays have been all too common. Harry has worked diligently to find alternative solutions for his customers.

One customer Harry was working with was met with a two-month lead time to be able to get the liners they needed for their closures. Rather than settle with the long lead time, Harry collaborated with his internal team to find a substitute material that decreased the lead time by six weeks.

Throughout all these pandemic challenges, Harry said frequent communication and transparency have been key to finding successful solutions. Good communication and a bit of challenge always bring people together. These hurdles have helped Harry develop stronger relationships with his customers in the process.

Growing Relationships, Saving Lives

Over the past seven years, Harry has learned invaluable lessons about how to strengthen his customer relationships and deliver the packaging products they need to serve their end users.

Some of Harrys robust customer relationships have even helped save lives. One of Harrys customers produces dialysis fluids, which must be delivered on time to patients who depend on the product to survive. Packaging can literally save lives,” Harry said.

Hearing there could be shortages in the supply of these products, and thus a delayed order can be scary for the customer. Harry works diligently to ensure that customers dont have to deal with the stress of those situations.

Beyond collaborating with his customers, Harry likes to collaborate with every department at MJS Packaging. Whether its the company president or team members from the warehouse, Harry enjoys working with them to find the right solution for his customers.

Get To Know More about Harry Harrison

Harry might answer to that name at MJS Packaging and everywhere else, but to his mother, he’s still Anthony. That’s right, Harry’s birth name is Anthony, but the name Harry stuck after playing football in high school, he said.

His head coaches found it easier to yell out, “Harry!” — short for his last name, Harrison — than Anthony. From that day forward, he walked off the field as Harry.

He continues to be a team player working with customers and co-workers to find the best solutions for the challenges facing the packaging industry. On or off the sales floor, Harry’s up for the challenge, and he’ll deliver results.
