As a southeast Michigan packaging company supplying solutions to customers across the globe, we are keenly aware of how our business and our employees are part of the communities we serve. This is particularly true when it comes to our involvement with the Ronald McDonald House of Southeast Michigan.

How Southeast Michigan Packaging Can Benefit Local Kids

Through our extensive history of involvement with various charities over the years, our employees and leaders at MJS Packaging recognized the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) as a worthy cause where there was great need. It was touching to see how they have provided thousands of families and children with desperately needed stability at a time when serious illness or injury has turned their world upside down. With this close to our heart, we chose to develop a deeper relationship.

For part of this effort, we had the pleasure of getting involved from the ground up with their new house. It can be very difficult for a nonprofit to fund such capital campaigns, so we sought out ways we could do so in a sustainable, meaningful, and effective way. For us, this meant sponsoring the needed RMHC expansion and envisioning a way to tie it into our history.

Since our long-term president, Marty Jacob, had a passion for making the world around him a more beautiful place, we had a natural way to do so. One of Marty’s biggest interests showed through in gardening, so we took great joy in crafting a green space on the new RMHC grounds. It was both the perfect way to honor his legacy and provide a beautiful aesthetic for families and children who often see intimidating and monotonous healthcare environments.

With this Serenity Garden, we also paid homage to Marty’s love for depictions of the sun, where it’s true to say there is a double meaning: these sculptures and solar art symbolize brightness and hope.

All of this comes down to an invitation we’re extending to you: let’s respond to the call for continuing to bring smiles to children and families. Whether you are joining us in being a benefactor at a golf outing, like the one we held with the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House, contributing to the facility in Detroit or elsewhere, or finding another way to give, we encourage you to join in for this worthy cause: the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Check out their events locally in Southeast Michigan, get involved in a golf outing (like the 13th Annual Vinni Golf Outing), or find a chapter near you. Whichever way you contribute, you can be sure you’ll be meeting urgent needs in the community and increasing the number of happier and healthier children.
